Celebrating Excellence in Security

The APSA Security Guard Awards Program recognizes outstanding performance and dedication among front-line security professionals. Each year, APSA honors individuals who exemplify professionalism, integrity, and service excellence in the field.

Award Categories

Security Guard of the Year

This award honours a full-time licensed security guard employed in Canada who:

Has at least two years of continuous services with an APSA member agency
Maintains an exceptional performance rating, supported by client recognition
Demonstrates specific or sustained accomplishments beyond expectations

Security Guard Supervisor of the Year

This award recognizes a full-time field supervisor who:

Has at least three years of continuous services with an APSA member agency.
Has maintained an exceptional performance rating for two consecutive years or more, supported by client recognition
Demonstrates specific or sustained accomplishments that exceed typical expectations.

Nomination Process

Nominations are submitted by APSA member agencies and reviewed by
the Guard and Supervisor of the Year Committee, which currently includes
representatives from:
